Whats New?

I haven’t been keeping up on the blog or the web page as my attention has been on redesigning the whole site, playing with the new toys in CS5 and trying to be productive in the garage creating new works of art. Thanks for stopping by and don’t hesitate to contact me or inquire about projects. I’m always checking my mail.

Sold a t-shirt.

I just sold my first shirt of RedBubble! The splatter is a good choice as I’m not sure how the other samples are going to print yet. http://www.redbubble.com/people/noblesoul

I can post what I want here, can’t I?

Filed under: Ideas and Theories — Noble_Soul @ 9:29 am

I tried to post a link on my Facebook Fan Page to a blog that I found funny and a message popped up that said that the website had been blocked and reported by “some” Facebook users as offensive. Wow, since when do “some” Facebook users get to determine what I post on my fan page? If you don’t like someone’s fan page posts then delete yourself from their fan list. Anyway, if you want to read the offensive blog you’ll have to get the link off my Twitter account: “LMAO”. Or simply click the shortcut in this post on the word “blog.”

Lammotown

Graphic available to promote your next event. The rainbow text can be changed as well as the map. Colors and graphics on the Lambretta can be changed as well. If you’ve seen this Lambretta before you know I love to use it and change the design and colors. It’s like dressing up a Barbie for me. I can also replace the bike with your own scooter, drawn in a similar style for an additional illustration charge. Great for t-shirts, posters, postcards, stickers, patches, you name it. Get recognized! Contact me for details.

With loving respect to Barry Gordy and Motown Records.

KRink Hist

I like the KRink brand and I think Craig Costello presents himself here as a smart business man. Anything negative is just a sign of ignorance or immaturity, or both. I work small so I like to use it with a pinstripe brush or a lettering brush, but you have to be quick because it kills the brush. The mops are fun when I’m in the mood for a mess.

The Death of Winter

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening – Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Death of Winter
Illustration for New Times magazine
“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.” ~Andrew Wyeth

I read some poetry and old folklore about winter before starting this illustration and decided on a symbolic, narrative approach. I thought that the scratch board would be a good medium with it’s dramatic black and white contrast.
